At Jack’s we are committed to using fantastic local suppliers, whenever possible. These suppliers are extremely proud of their produce, so the freshness and quality is second to none. It also means we are doing our bit to reduce food miles and support the Derbyshire economy, too.

This is Andrew, he and Roger own The Loaf, Crich, a busy and vibrant artisan bakery, delicatessen and café in Crich, Derbyshire. They supply all our delicious, fresh bloomer loaves and amazing sourdoughs. They don’t bake with any additives or preservatives of any kind.  Though they do use vegetable fats in some breads, most are a simple combination of flour, water, fat, yeast and a small amount of salt, so they are very healthy and digestible. If you are out and about nearby, pop in and say hello.


Betty’s Farm Shop, Willington

Emma and Simon supply the freshest, free-range eggs, which we use in all our baking, and on the menu. The eggs are collected the day they are delivered to us – you can’t get fresher than that! Betty’s Farm Shop hold lots of fun and informative events, great for kids to learn all about farm life and the animals. Find out more on their website.

Bill has been supplying our salad and vegetables since we opened four years ago. During the summer season, Bill’s lettuce can be cut from his field and delivered to us within a matter of minutes. Bill is one of the last remaining market gardeners in Melbourne, and you will see his produce in the fields nearby.



The Hartington Cheese Shop

The Hartington Creamy make the punchy Peakland Blue on our menu, along with the Peakland white with smoked tomato and garlic. They have recently started to produce a Shropshire Blue and are one of only ? places with the permission to make stilton. They supply all of the cheeses on our menu from their extensive range at The old Cheese Shop, they even make wedding cakes from cheese! All are available to order online.


Bluebird Tea Co.

Although no longer local, these guys started off just across the border in Nottinghamshire. When they took themselves down to Brighton to open their first shop, we just couldn’t let them go! Bluebird Tea Co. is a fairly young, happiness spreading, independent, award winning, unique Tea Mixology Company on a mission to make people happy with tea! All of their teas are available to order online.


Bluebells, Spondon

Rosemary, Oliver and the family have been milking cows at Brunswood Farm, Locko Park, on the outskirts of Derby, for over 50 years. In 2008 they decided to make use of their own cows’ fresh, creamy milk by adding to it the finest ingredients to produce a wonderful, hand made, luxury ice cream. Bluebells is also a farm shop, tea rooms, and play area who regularly holds exciting events and fun things to do.

Original Recipes, producers of Granny Mary’s luxury potted meats, is a young family business formed in 2012, with the desire to bring back once much-loved and often forgotten family recipes.  Unlike some brands Granny Mary was an actual granny with an actual story that founders Alistair and Will just love to tell people as it is a true rags to riches story. They believe passionately in only using the very highest quality ingredients, making food by hand in small batches and using traditional processes with no preservatives or additives. They then add a modern twist and a touch of magic, in order to deliver really great food. Smith Hall Organics, Hulland Ward

This little piggy went to market – Ashley founder of Smith Hall Organics takes great pride in the welfare of his animals. All pigs live in family groups, are given the freedom to roam and wallow in the mud. Ashley’s farm has had organic status for over 10 years. With the help of his good lady, Mary (The Really Good Cheese Co.) they supply us with the best pork pies I have ever tasted, crammed full of chunks of pork. Look out for Mary and Ashley at Derbyshire food fairs and farmers markets, a list of which can be found on their websites.


Limini Coffee

Meet Youri, one of the most passionate and bonkers people we have the pleasure of working with! Youri and his wife, Samantha, have been with us since day one, in fact it was these guys that taught us everything we know about great tasting coffee. They are a small independent company, based in Bradford, where they also run the best barista training in the country.

They supply us with our own amazing blend of perfectly roasted beans, as well as providing barista training for the Jack’s Team.
